I didn't sew at all yesterday.
After our trip to Aldi's
I discovered that my Avon order would be arriving soon
so
I busied myself with the computer and
it sucked up the bulk of my day.
Today
I will prewash one of my
Craft Coat Fabrics
and work on
drawing up the pattern .

Happy Birthday to my little Jenny !!!

I have been sewing
pretty much every day...
I have been working on a
small ( 18x22 ) wall hanging with
quilt blocks for pockets.
The first one that I made was
rather disappointing
however
I enjoyed sewing it immensely...
sew much that
I made another one yesterday
for my own use.
Pictures will follow.
I am still
"finding my way"
so to speak
in the world of online sales and such.
I am just having more fun sewing right now.
The pressure of perfection is
exhausting to me
and
it saps a lot of the fun of sewing
out of me.
We are going to Aldi's today so
I am not certain how much I will accomplish.
I want to draw up the pattern for my craft coat.
I have a small list of
" Most Important Things"
GREAT
All of the photos that I had in  my IPOOD
are gone....
meh
here is a picture of something else:

Not Good Enough To Sell

but
Here it is
all finished :)

My new little sewing machine will arrive today.
Lynne, who is the previous owner
sent me an email
telling me that I will need to be home
so that I can sign for it
:)
VERY EXCITED !!!
In the mean time,
I will finish my project today.
Yesterday was "family discovery day"
We need to have those
every so often....
I think that having a big outing at Aldi's
sort of threw me for a loop
so
I will be back on track today.
I am trying to think of what I want to make with
my new sewing machine.
I can't wait to meet her !!!
Have a great day

Most Important Task: Finish The Project That I Began Yesterday...

I brought out my little old Singer Featherweight the other day and
got her all cleaned up and oiled.
I wanted to "get the feel" of sewing on
a Featherweight again,
in preparation for the arrival of my new little machine
that will most likely be arriving
tomorrow !!!
YAY :)
I decided to work on a small wall hanging
so
I drew up the pattern and
went searching for the appropriate fabrics and
made quite a lot of progress.

It was a glorious day and Becky said she was
proud of me for sewing !!!
Today,
I want to finish it.
I need to make a trip to Aldi's this morning.
I am not sure if I will offer tis project for sale in my shop....
I don't even have any idea what I would charge for
and 8" x 11" wall hanging.
It is almost like selling my children.
I need to work on that because, that is at the core of why
I stopped sewing I think.
We'll see how it turns out !!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!

Well.... yesterday did not go as planned
but it turned out to be a lovely day after all.
We babysat for our new little Grandson, Bradley
We haven't stayed up to see the New Year in for maybe 20 years.
We watched Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve special and
we enjoyed it very much :)
Bradley pretty much just ate and slept...
Mom and Dad got home a little after one.
Of course, I watched TV until 230 and then got up at 4
'cause I'm a dork LOL
But I'm glad I did.
I started a "self improvement" program called:
The Sea Change Program.
Here is a link to read about it.
Every month, a different topic is addressed.
January, we are learning how to fix being a procrastinator....
which,
if you look it up,
you will see my photo :)
It is very interesting to read why one procrastinates,
but in order to work on fixing this problem,
we are to choose one, "most important thing" to \accomplish for the day.
I have included an excerpt below:

This month, we’ll be developing some Unprocrastination Habits. These are small, simple habits that will help you get good at beating procrastionation.
Here are the habits (more on each below):
Habit 1: Picking a Most Important Task each morning.
Habit 2: The Start. Develop the habit of starting. Become aware when you resist starting.
Habit 3: The Pause. Learn to pause when you get the urge to procrastinate. Watch and let go of your fears and irrational beliefs around procrastination.

The Plan

  1. During the first week (Jan. 1-7), just focus on Habit 1 — Most Important Task, or MIT. So pick an MIT every morning, write it down. Should only take 2 minutes. This is the task you should start your day with — pay yourself first, before answering email or checking on other things for other people. Report on your forum — to your accountability group and/or to the forum in general, each day after you do your habit for the day, even if you didn’t do the habit. Not just for this week, but every week.
  2. Don’t worry about not procrastinating on your MIT for the first week. Just watch yourself if you do start to procrastinate.
so I think that in order to be "accountable"
I will post my Most Important Task
here in my blog
and then I will report back the next day to
show a photo of my "Task".
For my first Most Important Task,
I am going to plan and sew a simple project.
As the days go by,
I will be a little more specific.
Oh...
and I am also going to keep tabs on
what I am eating.
Wish me luck !!!
:)
